Summary

Regulates food supplements (vitamins, minerals) in the EU: permitted substances, labelling, notification.

Scope

Applies to food supplements marketed as foodstuffs whose purpose is to supplement the normal diet with vitamins and minerals (Art. 1). Supplements must contain only permitted vitamins/minerals (Annexes I-II), and must be notified to the competent authority before marketing.
